Jito (Re)staking Program
Jito (Re)staking represents the backbone technology for its next-generation hybrid and highly flexible restaking protocols on Solana. This system supports a variety of staking configurations, enabling flexible validator reassignment, custom slashing rules, and operator management. Jito’s approach aims to enhance capital efficiency by allowing assets to be dynamically restaked, optimizing validator performance and rewards without sacrificing asset liquidity.
The two main components of the Jito (Re)staking framework are: the Restaking Program, and the Vault Program. This can be thought of as two separate entities that work together to provide a flexible, scalable infrastructure for creating and managing staked assets, VRTs and Node Consensus Network (NCN).
Restaking Program
The main function of the Restaking Program is to coordinate the creation and management of Node Consensus Operators (NCNs), facilitate opt-in/opt-out mechanisms, and manage reward distribution and slashing penalties.
Vault Program
The Vault Program is focused on everything related to Vault Receipt Tokens (VRTs), which are Jito’s term for liquid restaking tokens, such as minting burning, as well as the customization and delegation of NCNs.
With this framework, users are able to stake various SPL assets, receive Vault Receipt Tokens (VRTs) and earn rewards from multiple networks simultaneously.
